Like Fat Caused by No Exercise and Overeating....I Have Neglected This Blog :(

Never fear! I am still here and on my quest. I did lose that last seven pounds ;)! Yeah!!

Being that I have been living non-stop in theaters since June, I have had plenty of exercise with all the running around and making sure I eat healthy. Drinking LOTS of Healthy Teas from Teavana too-love the stuff-a perk of your executive guy taking numerous trips for work and always showering you with healthy gifts.

I'm so beat, had another three hour rehearsal night tonight and well, I just wanted to say HELLO! Life will get back to the ability to fit the gym in on a more regular basis once I launch my show to our first test audience on January 3rd.

So, I leave you with this:

Fat is What Fat Does....Thin is What Thin Does.

Still trying to push off this last seven pounds but it seems there's some stagnation here, even with walking and eating healthy. I need to look at some ways I can jump start this last bit of weight loss and I'm open to suggestions from you guys. Please leave a comment. Have a GREAT day and don't eat any junk!

Love you!

Tomorrow Ends 21 Days on Master Cleanse

This has probably been one of the easiest times I've had on the cleanse. Maybe it is because I find myself more disciplined within the health benefits of it, instead of focusing on the weight loss.

I'm doing one last Salt Water Flush today to get out the last of the toxins. I hate these things, but, it's necessary and the internal you feels so good when it's over....so, I'm always thirsting for that final result. The water is horrible, but I have the stamina and the willpower to get through most anything, including this darn drink--blech.

I'm looking at sweets in the kitchen and it's basically making me NOT want them....I'm craving now for salads with tuna and tomatoes....with a nice bowl of fruit on the side to satisfy my incredible sweet tooth.

So, Tuesday I will start back with some liquid, soups, mainly.  Of course, lots of Orange Juice to balance out the acidic levels (as suggested by the Master Cleanse folks).

Later in the week, I'm taking my boys to Dim Sum for my reward. My oldest hasn't yet seen the new me.

I will be putting up pics soon....but it will be another week or so. I still haven't gotten to the point where I am ready for that full body shot to show off the new physique. Still 7 lbs to lose and then I'll post one.

I do hope to encourage my readers to try Master Cleanse. It is a great feeling and it CAN be done (without cheating!), you just have to want it bad enough. Like smoking, drinking, doing drugs, overeating/eating the wrong things, these are all choices people make to harm themselves.

Make the choice to free yourself of the crap in life....it is an amazing feeling!

Anyone that says "I can't do it" is simply an excuse maker...don't be THAT guy.

PS. GOD is a good guide that can help you too!

God Bless you all...
I'm off to church with my son in my skinnier, cleaner body.

Master Cleanse Day 13

Well, here we are and only 8 more days to go. I'm feeling great! Current weight is still at 145 but I'm hoping this week's daily walks will reduce that even more.

I have had no temptations, but I do quite miss my Sushi and Dim Sum Sundays with the Family! Gosh....

Remember to keep it moving and you too, can do this weight loss thing.

Don't be a fat ass...it's not worth the health risk and bikinis give you something to be proud of! Not there yet....but it's coming!  Next summer I'm going to be out there at my beach with the darn tourists, screw it!

Have a great rest of your Sunday, all!

Master Cleanse....Day 7

Hello Dear Friends,

I haven't written on this blog in a while.  I have been very busy with projects around the clock, balancing my family life and things, it ended up that two months went by and I went "What just happened?!"

So, here we are. I, of course, have been walking but not much else. My current weight is 145, I've still got 10 more lbs to go to reach my current goal weight of 135. I know I can do it.

To help kick start the much needed weight loss, last Monday I started Master Cleanse. I do this every summer, usually for three weeks. It keeps my head grounded, my body clean and reinvigorates my mind to eat healthy. It's a great feeling when you're doing Master Cleanse...emotionally, physically....

There will be people that say it's not good for you, etc. But, it's only 3 weeks out of 52. This is my fifth year doing it. It's hasn't had any weird affects on me. In fact, your skin, teeth and hair are so clean and shiny, it's amazing.

So, tomorrow morning I am getting up early for a nice long walk before I have to jet off to rehearsal.

I hope you'll take a nice long walk too.  Being fat isn't fun-no crap food ever tastes as good as being thin feels.

OWN YOUR FAT, but SELL fast!

Thanks for being here.

Memorial Day Weekend - I Still Worked Out

Well, this Memorial Day Weekend was spent at Mom and Dad's. The highlight happened yesterday, taking the Tramway up the San Jacinto Mountain from its base in Palm Springs.

The trip was amazing with breathtaking views, wish all my readers could experience this.

Well, in the morning, I went over to Mom's clubhouse and hopped on a lot of the new workout equipment.

Two miles on the treadmill
One mile on the bike
40 Leg Curls
40 Leg Extensions
50 Crunches
40 Torso Rotations

The lesson here....don't let a weekend getaway somewhere stop your fitness program.

We also walked a lot at the mountain and had a great dinner in Palm Springs before heading back...a great day was had by all!

The view from 10,000 feet...

Today's Gym Recap

Well, first, let me get this off my chest:

If you're in the gym and the TV is OFF and there's someone there listening to an iPhone on their headset and doing a "very quiet" workout, have the COMMON SENSE and RESPECT to ask them if they mind if you turn on the TV and BLAST IT!

I was listening to my one-woman show and "studying" since the gym is always empty at 10:30am....and here come these two 18/19 year old girls with no damn home trainin'! I want to speak with their Mother, so rude!

The good news in all of this is that I have less to lose than they do....WINNING!! LOL

I beat my two-mile record and did it in just 30 mins today...felt awesome!

After those rotten teenagers got there, I finished off with my rowing, leg curls, leg extensions and another 10 mins on the bike.

Rows: 40 @ 40lbs.
Leg Extensions: 40 @ 30lbs.
Leg Curls: 40 @ 40lbs.
Bike: I can't remember, But I was peddlin' my butt off for ten solid minutes.

Home, showered and feeling accomplished! Oh, but I didn't get through "ten pages" that I had intended to. Rotten kids!

Taking The Bull By The Horns - Long Beach Losers

During the last "Biggest Loser," I found out about "Long Beach Losers." This group is GREAT and they are doin' it! Wow, lucky people that live in Long Beach who have this at their disposal. Bravo to all!

I wrote to them today to try and find a partner that may want to start up a "Newport Beach Losers" chapter with me. I'll be excited to see what happens, this may just pan out.

Lately, I have been thinking about WHY we gain weight. The answer is simple, just like a person that smokes and won't quit, we don't CARE enough about ourselves to actually start making it happen.  If we did, we'd all panic when we gained even five pounds and try to get rid of it asap!  When (sorry guys) women, especially, don't go into panic mode until they've hit 180/200, there's more of a psychological problem. It stems from lack of self-respect, self-worth, feeling not good enough and certainly unloved. If people truly love you, they push you to be your best. When they don't, they'll keep taking you out for burgers and ice cream and watch you blow the hell up...HELLO!? Can you say enabler? Don't be a dumbass and fall into this trap! DO NOT! If your man is insecure about his own self, then surely, he wants you fat so no other men will be attracted to you. Can I get an "Amen?"

To add to this note, we also have here (in our society) a viscous cycle of parents who allow their children to overeat. That is NOT love! NOT. As parents, we are to blame. So, if you're overweight, I venture a guess your parents let you eat whatever the heck you wanted, just so you were "happy." It's all a smokescreen, people. Stop the cycle with you!

Dave has been a real charmer. He's always saying, I love you just the way you are, because your intellect and laughter is the thing I fell in love with, not your body. Well, knowing that he completely respects me and always tells the truth, I do believe him; however, he's very supportive of my fight for a healthier me and to look good for him, too.

What I have learned in a 20-lb FAT ASS gain is that food and comfort became more important than my actual health.  I am extremely MAD at myself for NOT panicking when I reached 145! Now, I'm 155 and I tell you, it's not easy to lose the weight. Ultimately, I want to be at 135 and toned. I want to wear my size 7 pants that I was wearing in 2008. This is hell on earth...it's up and down, fighting the gym, fighting food, loving the gym, hating the gym, being lazy, being motivated, unmotivated...UGH! The mind never stops doing its "Hey, you know you want a brownie" crap! I wish there was a simple answer. The best one I have is, you don't even get those thoughts if you're truly motivated. So, I have to change my thinking to a constant "I CAN DO THIS!"

This weight loss is a fight within myself just has any fight has been to change my lifestyle, habits and becoming a better person in God's eyes.  I worship Him completely and THAT right there keeps me going and always "Taking The Bull By The Horns."

To forgive myself for my own failures and bad decisions, to forgive those who have hurt me, to listen to the Lord and know that His way is the only way to reach higher ground.  To give my children more to respect about me, to lead by example in my own growth and fight for better health and body.

Speaking of God, I highly recommend this other blog to those that also follow in what God wants for us. As the addicts say, I've been "clean" now for two years next month. Whooo hooo!

Lastly, if you are reading this blog and would like to start up a Newport Losers chapter with me, I'd LOVE to hear from you!

All the best and enjoy your day folks...I'm off to the gym at noon.

Go walk on your lunch break....please?

Five More Miles Yesterday and More Today!

Yesterday, Saturday...was PACKED with fun!  I picked up Christine and arrived on Balboa about 8:30am (late!) We walked about three and a half miles and took the Ferry over to the Fun Zone.

Walked about there and did some window shopping for new summer hats and had breakfast at Harborside Restaurant.

Then, it was back on the Ferry to the island to finish the last mile and a half.

The walk was wonderful and invigorating. Finished off with the Jacuzzi to massage the muscles.

Today, did a lot more walking (well, ok, more of a stop/start) at the Airplane Museum in Chino, which lies just at the base view of the most incredible mountains....just gorgeous.

Love going with my Dave to museums, he teaches me SO much! It's so refreshing to learn so many things from your partner. That man has a mind like my grandfather--an equally astute, brilliant and remarkable historian. So many things in this life we know nothing about...because we fail to take the time to learn what we feel is "unimportant to us," yet, there are so many things we should know. He never stops impressing me.

Growth in the Lord is amazing, right?! We are so blessed to have been brought together by Him!

Oh....sorry, squirrel!

Speaking of Growth.....
We stopped at Flo's Airport Cafe for brunch on the way there. I ate the country gravy. DANG.

Balboa 5 Miles - 6:00am

What are YOU doing at 6:00am tomorrow?

I'm taking my friend Christine with me and we're doing an hour and a half walk, at approximately 4mph.

I found a great little calculator to figure out how many calories we'll burn:

You walked 6.00 miles, and burned 545 calories. Way to go!

Here's the link for anyone that is interested in figuring out their own walk accomplishment:

I ate very healthy today, always a great feeling!

Stay away from the Fast Food, people...and walk it out!

If this blog is inspiring to you and it's helping you, please let me know by leaving a nice comment. We're all in this battle of the FAT ASS together!

Until the next entry....let's do this!

Balboa - 2.5 Miles

Today I managed to squeeze in 2.5 miles around Balboa with my friend, Carol Grant.

We had a great walk and it was the re-start, re-kick in the ass I needed.

Tomorrow I'm working on "Scandal" so I may not have any time for exercise, but there's always Thursday!

Get off your ass.....work it....somehow, some way....

The 51 Fastest Fat Burners! Super Tips!

(Health.com) -- Erase extra flab with these super-effective tricks.
1. Catch the running bug. You'll continue to burn fat after your jog: People who run for at least four hours a week melt more calories than non-runners, even when they're not running, a Yale University School of Medicine study reports.

2. Crank it up early. Working out harder during the first half of your workout and taking it easier during the second burns up to 23 percent more fat than doing the opposite, according to a study from The College of New Jersey.

3 & 4. Go hard -- and make it quick. Staying at 80 percent of your max heart rate for 40 minutes can amp your metabolism for 19 hours afterward, research published in Obesity notes. And doing a shorter workout at 75 percent of your max aerobic capacity will give you a greater metabolic boost than sweating longer at 50 percent, a Colorado State University reveals.

Health.com: 10-minute ab workout

5 to 7. Lift dumbbells ... slowly. More muscle equals mega metabolism boost. Strength training can help you trim major fat, research reveals -- and doing super-slow (versus normal speed) reps increases strength by 50 percent.

Plus, using dumbbells activates more muscle fibers than using machines, explains Gregory Haff, Ph.D., an associate professor in the exercise physiology department at West Virginia University.

8. Speed up, slow down. Alternating bouts of high-intensity and low-intensity cardio has been shown to torch pounds.

9. Put on weight (literally). Wearing a weighted vest (about 10 percent of your body weight) while walking can boost your calorie burn by 8 percent.

10. Download Rihanna, not Brahms. Listening to up-tempo songs actually makes you run faster and harder than listening to slower-paced music, British scientists say.

11. Let kettlebells ring. Not only does working out with kettlebells build muscle, but doing it for 20 minutes burns as many calories as running at a 6-minute-mile pace for the same amount of time.

12. Keep it up. As few as 80 minutes a week of aerobic or weight training helps keep you from regaining belly fat after losing weight, according to researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

13. Add poles. Use Nordic poles while you walk, and you'll burn 20 percent more calories, says research from The Cooper Institute in Dallas.

14 & 15. Lift first, nix the rest. Doing strength training before cardio can torch more fat than cardio alone. And if you do one move after another without pausing, "you'll see more gains in strength and muscle mass," says Dr. Pierre Manfroy, M.D., consultant for the book "100 Ways to Supercharge Your Metabolism."

16. Add pounds. Lift heavier weights for fewer reps to make your workout more intense -- and burn more fat -- Manfroy says.

17. Try aromatherapy. Exercisers who inhaled strawberry and buttered-popcorn scents torched more calories than those who sniffed neutral odors, according to research from the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago.
Health.com: Aromatherapy massages: touch and scents can vaporize stress

18. Box yourself in. Wii boxing knocks out nearly twice as many calories as some other games, like Wii golf.

19. Kick it. Playing soccer not only torches more fat and builds more muscle than jogging, but it feels less tiring, Danish research reveals.

20. Stay in shape. Fit people have more fat-burning metabolites in their blood than couch potatoes do, scientists say.

22. Get more protein. Eating a protein-packed breakfast and lunch helps you burn more post-meal fat than if you eat lower-protein meals, according to Australian research.

23 & 24. Guzzle green tea -- or coffee. Downing five 5-ounce cups of green tea a day boosts metabolism, says Lyssie Lakatos, R.D., author of "Fire Up Your Metabolism." Two cups of coffee will also do the trick, one study shows.
Health.com: Is coffee healthier than you think?

25. Have an omelet. Eating two eggs for breakfast while dieting will help you trim more weight and body fat than if you ate the same amount of calories noshing on a bagel, scientists say.

26. Stay above 1,200 calories... "The average person's body goes into starvation mode if she eats fewer than 1,200 calories a day," says Eric Berg, author of "The 7 Principles of Fat Burning." "That's stress, and stress creates more belly fat."

27. ... and cut calories gradually. If you diet, don't trim more than 250 calories a day. Cutting calories too quickly slows your metabolism down, Dr. Manfroy says.

28 to 33. Munch on these. Almonds, cherries, yogurt, grapefruit, whole grains, and spicy foods have all been shown to torch fat.
Health.com: 7 foods that fight fat

34. Fuel up right. Eating a low-glycemic-index breakfast (such as muesli and peaches) will help you burn more fat during a subsequent workout than eating a high-glycemic-index meal (like waffles), researchers from the University of Nottingham reveal.

35. Think before you drink. Sipping as few as 90 calories' worth of vodka can slow your metabolism by 73 percent, one study shows.

36. Graze. Women who go without eating for long periods are more likely to have higher body-fat percentages than women who nosh more regularly, one study notes.

37. Dine like a Greek. Eating a diet rich in monounsaturated fat (think olive oil, avocados) can help trim both weight and fat, research published in the British Journal of Nutrition shows.

38. Stop gorging. Your body can only handle so much food at a time, so stick to 600 calories or less per meal to maximize fat-burning, says Leslie Cooper, co-author of "Flip the Switch: Proven Strategies to Fuel Your Metabolism and Burn Fat 24 Hours a Day."

39. Skip juice. Reaching for an apple instead of apple juice is not only better calorie-wise, but it'll also do a better job of boosting your metabolism, Dr. Manfroy explains.
Health.com: The best ways to boost your metabolism

41 & 42. Get C and D. Vitamin C can help you burn more fat, and D may help you lose fat, research notes. Aim for 400 to 500 mg of C and 800 mg of D a day.

43 & 44. Walk more (in denim). Researchers found that fitness-friendly offices (think treadmill desks, mobile headsets) helped people trim pounds and fat, as did wearing jeans to work, since dressing casual encourages you to move more. Wear comfy clothes when you can, pace while on the phone, and stand while chatting with co-workers.

45. Add fish oil (And work out). Taking 6 grams of fish oil per day and hitting the gym three times a week can help nix body fat, an Australian study reveals.

46. Work the day shift. Keeping nontraditional hours lowers levels of hormones that trigger satiety, increases blood glucose and insulin levels, and raises levels of the stress hormone cortisol (which can drive you to eat more), scientists say.

47. Nix the boob tube. Cut your TV time in half, and you'll burn more calories each day, research from the University of Vermont suggests.
Health.com: Too much TV linked to earlier death

48. Go mental. People who visualized themselves training a specific muscle boosted the strength in that muscle group, researchers found.

49. Eat a smaller dinner. Your body may not digest food -- and burn fat -- as efficiently if you down a huge meal right before bedtime, especially because your metabolism is slower while you sleep, Dr. Manfroy says.

50. Jump-start your morning. Wake up your metabolism -- and get fat-burning started -- by doing some sort of exercise within the first few hours of being awake, Cooper suggests.

51. Get your snooze on. Sleep for a solid 81D 2 hours instead of 51D 2, according to research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, and you'll lose more fat. Sweet dreams!

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Well, here's the real deal. In the later part of January, I got a job that is taking up all my time. There is very little time to exercise but I have GOT to get back on track!

There are things that I want in life and this isn't it!

But this is.......

This weekend, I'm going to Mom's in Murietta and nothing is going to stop me from going to the Club House gym and getting in some Elliptical, Weights and a Sauna session! I'm long overdue and there's nothing PRETTY about a size 16...NOTHING. Blech.

Work it, people....work it!

(This is not my stomach)

With work, my one-woman show and random jobs all over the place, I'm hardly finding time to write here.

Stay tuned for a REAL update very soon.

Have a great day and God Bless you all...
